Radio interview
Aina Bauzá embarks on an exciting adventure: breaking the world record by crossing the Atlantic from Cadiz to San Salvador in the Bahamas, all solo and aboard a vessel of just 6.5 meters in length, without any assistance.
In an interview with the Cope network, on Carlos Herrera’s program, Aina shared the details of her challenge. Motivated by the inability to participate in the Mini-Transat in 2023, she decided to take control of her destiny and undertake this solo crossing aboard the “Redó by Ánima Negra”.
The goal is to surpass the current record of 21 days, 11 hours, 18 minutes, and 25 seconds, at an average speed of 7.54 knots. This endeavor is not only a personal challenge but also an opportunity to leave her mark on the history of navigation.
In the interview, Aina discussed the challenges she expects to face on her journey to Cadiz, from changing weather conditions to the physical and mental challenges of sailing solo for long periods.
