Aina Bauza and Sasha Lanièce make the podium in the Calvados Cup
Aina continues competing in the regatta season in northern France. This time, she sailed aboard the Dagard with Sasha Lanièce, with whom they secured third place in the second stage of the Calvados Cup. The start was delayed a few hours to avoid a front with strong winds, but the wait was worth it. Starting in Deauville, on the northern French coast, they had to reach the English coast and return, a 300-mile journey. For much of the last night, they fought for first and second place, making it a very exciting race for both. After attempting one last option to the north while crossing the Bay of the Seine, the crew moved up two places and reached the podium.
Sasha and Bauza have made a good team and do not rule out sailing together again in the future.
Next challenge: the SAS
Now Aina is preparing to participate in the challenging SAS regatta. This solo regatta, starting from the French port of Les Sables d’Olonne, ventures 1,200 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. It consists of two stages that connect the French port of Les Sables d’Olonne with the island of Horta (Azores). This July, Les Sables d’Olonne will host the 10th edition of this race, and around 20 days of sailing are expected, divided into two stages, with a total of 2,180 km and 1,200 miles in each stage. This time we will see the Red Redó by Ànima Negra race again.
