Aina Bauza kicks off 2025 with new challenges and recognition on her island

January has begun with intense office work and fisical training. Aina Bauza, currently based in Lorient, continues to prepare at all levels to face a new sailing season, this time aboard a larger boat, a Class 40.
With Redó, her beloved Mini 6.50, now in the hands of a new team, the Mallorcan sailor keeps moving forward toward her next big challenge. She is already visiting boats, specifically Class 40s, with the goal of starting the sailing and training season as soon as possible. Very soon, we hope to share more details about this.
In addition to her sporting commitments, Aina has also had the opportunity to return home in recent days. The Marratxí Town Hall has awarded her a prize in recognition of her 2024 sporting achievements as part of the Gala de l’Esport 2024.
“It’s always nice to come back home and have your work recognized, especially when, between competitions and trips to build the project, you spend so little time on the island” Bauza commented.
Staying true to her commitment to making women in ocean sailing more visible, Aina also took part in a gathering organized by Veus Feministes de Porreres and the Associació i Agrupació Cultural de Porreres, where she shared her experience of the solo transatlantic crossing alongside other women working toward equality in this field.
Next March, Aina will return to Spain to attend events related to International Women’s Day, March 8, in Mallorca. Later, she and her team will travel to Ababor, the leading nautical fair in the Basque Country. But we’ll tell you more about that very soon!
