Aina Bauzà completes the first 1,000 miles of her journey.
A week after departing from Cadiz, the sailor from the Andratx Sailing Club aims to break a solo world record.
The Mallorcan sailor Aina Bauzà shared an exciting update today with the Canary Islands on her way to the Bahamas, which she embarked on a week ago from the port of Cadiz. With 1,000 miles covered and another 3,000 miles to go, her journey has been thrilling and far from dull.
During these seven days at sea, Aina has faced various weather conditions, from calm seas to favorable and close-hauled winds, as well as occasional showers.
Satellite connection, sponsored by Omniaccess, has allowed her to make five live connections with the media, sharing her experience in real-time.
Despite encountering some breakdowns along the way, including repairing the outrigger and a self-arming fuse, Aina has managed to solve the problems on board, demonstrating her skill and knowledge of the boat.
She is broadcasting this entire adventure through social media and live streams on YouTube that are attracting more followers every day.
With still 3,000 miles ahead, Aina is heading towards Cape Verde in search of the Trade Winds, where she hopes to make the most of her boat’s passion for riding the waves.
The Mallorcan sailor appreciates the support and company of her followers during this journey across the vast Atlantic, inviting them to continue following her exciting journey to the Bahamas.
